Make Me Guess Writing

Room 20 did some writing about a "slice" of our weekend. We had to describe something we had done without actually saying what it was. Here is Keith's writing:

Whish, whish, whish. I could hear flaxes wacking together. I could feel my heart pounding. I felt like it was going to go forever. My legs felt like they would fall off. I felt like I was lost. My legs were full of prickles. My heart drooped when I realised I was only half way. When we reached the end, my face lit up!

Making Hokey Pokey

As part of our learning about procedural writing, we made hokey pokey. We had to follow the instructions very carefully! Billy brought in his giant pumice because we had talked about how pumice has holes in it and how it floats. We thought hokey pokey might be similar. We burnt the first batch a bit but we ate it anyway. Then we tried again and got much better results. YUM!!!

EOTC Pioneer Village part 2

After our time in the classroom, we got to explore the village. We looked through the old buildings and had a go playing some old fashioned games. Our last activity was to go for a ride on the train. We had an amazing time and can't wait for our next two days of activities.

EOTC - Pioneer Village

Yesterday we had so much fun at Pioneer Village. We got to experience what it was like in an old fashioned classroom, which we found a bit scary! We even made our own candles.

Discovery through Teamwork

Today during our discovery target time, Eliza, Michael, Anden and Hunter began creating the tallest structure they could. But could they get it to touch the ceiling? And how many children high was it? Sometimes the best learning is "accidental".
